Poison is one of the basic status modifiers.
Mechanics[edit | edit source]
When a player is poisoned, their health will slowly drain.
When a player's status becomes Poison, they'll begin gradually losing HP in small amounts. The longer they remain poisoned, the more HP they'll lose, so it should be removed as soon as possible.
Every 60 in game frames, poison will inflict 0.025% of the player's current max HP. This means that when the game is running at 60 fps, they will be dealt a quarter of a percent of their max health as poison damage every second.
A player cannot die from poison. Poison can only reduce their HP to 1.
There are several enemies that can inflict the poison status if they hit the player. The amanita food item will also inflict poison if consumed.
A player will recover from poison automaticlly after a short period of time, but consuming a food item that recovers HP will also remove poison. Using a water of life can also cure poison.
The Life Medal accessory will prevent the player from becoming poisoned, but it will not remove poison if they were poisoned prior to equipping it.
