Weapon

A player's Primary Weapon, or Base Weapon, refers to the main weapon held in a playable character's hoof. It is used to perform a normal attack does not consume resources such as MP, with only one exception. Some weapons can deal damage of an element other than the main element of its type. Some types of weapons are only available to certain races.

Earth ponies can preform Crictial Art, which consumes MP for more powerful attacks. Some weapons are swung like normal but with higher damage, while the others perform various attacks which may even have different elements.

When a pegasus use Dash, different actions will be performed: Rune Sword, swords, and staffs will be spinned; spears, short swords, and books will jab like normal; other throwing weapons won't be thrown, making the Dash deals no damage.

Sword

Swords are Slash-element weapons swung in an overhead fashion. They are well balanced weapons in terms of attack power and speed. Swords cannot be used by unicorns.

Staff

Staffs are Strike-element weapons swung like swords, but instead trade attack for intelligence and/or additional effects. Staffs can be used by anypony.

Hammer

Hammers are Strike-element weapons swung overhead. They are extremely slow but powerful that can hit multiple times with a single swing. Hammers can only be used by earth ponies.

Spear

Spears are Slash-element weapons thrust forward and have high attack power and a long reach. Spears cannot be used by unicorns.

Short Sword

Short swords are smaller and lighter versions of spears but have the fastest attack speed of any weapon. They deal Slash damage. Short swords can be used by anypony.

Book

Books are elementless weapons which ignore every element resistance. They are generally non-offensive weapons used to boost INT for the damage of skills. Books can be used by anypony.

Whip

Whips are versatile weapons dealing Strike damage. They can strike upwards or downwards if the 'up' or 'down' button is held during an attack. Holding down the 'attack' button and then inputting directions will allow you to brandish the whip. Whips can only be used by earth ponies.

Throwing

Throwing weapons are the only ranged weapons in the game. The weapon is thrown out and then returns to the user, giving it incredible reach. They deal Slash damage. Throwing weapons can be used by anypony.
